Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) Best Of Characters

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh

If there is a verse of the Quran that muslims of today need to know about it is this one:

وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ

The prophet, Mohammed (saw) was sent to this earth as an example for all of mankind to follow; what a tribute that Allah (swt) mentions him in the words we have highlighted above. The Quran does not say prophet (saw) hajj, prays, fasting, jihad or anything else was of the best but particularly mentions his CHARACTER. One must ponder why this is.

Muslims of today have been overly focused on the outward beauty but as a whole we have forgot about what makes a true believer, which is our inner beauty, having the right character is the utmost importance.

Having the right manners involves, knowing when to talk and when to be quiet, being a considerate individual, being trustworthy, honest, sincere person, have traits of compassion, humbleness, mercifulness and the list goes on are the foundation of being a sound muslim.

We have detached ourselves from focusing on becoming believers with sound character, instead as ummah as whole we have become the opposite of what we should be. Dishonesty, craftiness and being conniving is what prevails among the ummah today.

Until Muslims realize that they must become people of sound character, following the example of the prophet (saw) then we should not expect Allah (swt) blessing to shower us as individuals or as a whole, we are falling extremely short of standards expected as true believers.

One of the things which we are very quick to run after are our rights, how many times you hear it, they are my Islamic rights or I have a right to this and the other, yet we forget the first principle is have you fulfilled your rights and duties you owe, as the Prophet (saw) said “The best of people are those who are the best in fulfilling rights.”

Some Hadith On Having Good Character:

Prophet (saw) said: The only reason why I am sent is to perfect good Akhlaq.”

Prophet (saw) said: “The best of the Muslims is he from whose hand and tongue the Muslims are safe.”

Prophet (saw) said: “The best of people are those with the most excellent character.”

Prophet (saw) said: “The best of people are those that bring most benefit to the rest of mankind.”

Prophet (saw) said: “The best of people are those who are best in fulfilling [rights].”

Prophet (saw) said: “The most beloved of you to Allah is the best of you in character”

Prophet (saw) said: “There is nothing weightier in the scales than good morals and manners.”

The Prophet said: ” The believers who have the most perfect faith are those who have the best character, and the best of them are those who are best to their womenfolk. ” He also said: ” The most beloved and nearest of you to me on the Day of Judgment will be those of you with the best character.

Prophet (saw) said: Whoever would love to be delivered from Hellfire and admitted into Paradise, let him meet his end with faith in Allah and the Last Day, and let him treat people as he would love to be treated.

Prophet (saw) said: Verily, the most complete of believers in faith are those with the best character and who are most kind to their families.

Prophet (saw) said: The merciful will be shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth and the One in the heavens will have mercy upon you.
